The Project

Brighton Marathon Weekend, organised by London Marathon Events, is one of the UK’s top five marathons, attracting over 20,000 runners and tens of thousands of spectators each year.
Spanning the city from Preston Park to Brighton seafront, the event transforms Brighton into a celebration of sport, community and achievement. As Brighton-based event specialists, Orange Beach Bars was proud to deliver a full multi-site bar and coffee operation across the entire weekend, culminating in a three-bar operation within the Beach Village finish-line festival.
The event also provided the perfect opportunity to launch the Low Tide Lounge, our vibrant new marquee bar concept, in front of one of the largest audiences of the year on our home turf.
Our Approach
Multi-Site Operation
Our team delivered services across multiple locations throughout the marathon weekend, including the Mini Mile, Preston Park start line and the Beach Village at Hove Lawns, where thousands of runners and supporters gathered to celebrate at the finish line.
Operating across both event days, our team provided a seamless hospitality experience from the first coffee of the morning to the final drink served on the seafront.
Saturday Mini Mile
The weekend began with the Mini Mile, where our barista coffee units served participants, families and supporters throughout the day, helping create a welcoming atmosphere for the event’s youngest runners.
Green Runners Service
At Preston Park, OBB delivered the complimentary drinks service for Green Runners, participants who chose the most sustainable route into race day.
The initiative mirrored our Green Runners delivery at the London Marathon and aligned perfectly with our commitment to sustainability-led events, recognising and rewarding participants making environmentally conscious travel choices.
Start Line Hospitality
From early morning, two of our horsebox bars served freshly brewed coffee, soft drinks and pastries to runners and supporters at the start line. With thousands of participants preparing for race day, speed of service and reliability were key to ensuring a smooth customer experience.
Low Tide Lounge Launch
The highlight of the weekend was the public debut of the Low Tide Lounge at the Beach Village finish-line festival on Hove Lawns.
Designed and built by Orange Beach Bars, the Low Tide Lounge is a vibrant, beach-inspired marquee bar that combines standout aesthetics with high-volume service capability. Featuring a striking coastal design, multiple serving points and a spacious footprint, the structure was created to provide a premium customer experience while maintaining exceptional speed of service during busy periods.
Positioned at the heart of the event village, the Low Tide Lounge operated alongside two additional OBB bars, creating a three-bar operation that served runners, supporters and event partners throughout the day. The launch provided the perfect opportunity to test the concept in a live, high-footfall environment while showcasing the latest addition to the OBB fleet.

Impact
Brighton Marathon Weekend showcased Orange Beach Bars’ ability to deliver large-scale, multi-site sporting event operations while simultaneously launching a new hospitality concept in a live event environment.
The successful debut of the Low Tide Lounge demonstrated how OBB can create destination bar experiences that not only look exceptional but also perform under pressure. Designed as both a visual centrepiece and a high-capacity speed bar, the structure proved its ability to serve large crowds efficiently while enhancing the overall event experience.
From serving coffees at the start line to operating the main hospitality offer within the Beach Village finish-line festival, OBB supported runners and spectators throughout the entire marathon journey.
From the start line to the seafront finish, our team delivered the entire weekend, and launched a brand-new bar concept live in front of tens of thousands of people.
